i have been wondering for a while, is okay for sikh to hug someone of the opposite sex? i hug girls at my school all the time but i have no lustfull thought about them. my parents say i shouldn't do this as other might see this and think wrongly of a singh in a gursikh roop.
It is not the act of hugging that is right or wrong. Look into your own thoughts and feelings. It is a matter of intention. Hugging, when both parties participate and no one feels put upon, is simply an expression of love. Two hearts together. It is a natural and human thing. Do not worry yourself with the opinions of others. There are always people ready to tell you what you are doing is wrong. Your own heart knows the true answer. The Guru lives there.

Even still, hugging is just hugging, if you plan on only touching them for the feel of the body then, just get in another place of the Earth, because that other gender person really has a heart; but anyway hugging is completely legal, now on kissing and further, that could be a question to answer
I landed here after querying, "sikh hug". I searched this because I heard heart-warming things about the Sikh people. The wisdom I've read on this page only underscores this. See, I'm Californian, and if I knowingly met a Sikh person, I might well hug them. Lol, would hate to offend. #awkwardhug
