Yes this is sewa, but also many other things. Serving your parents, volunteering for organizations around town, and any work or action in which you are in remembrance of God and serving others. Spreading the Name of God, doing katha or doing "roll" at Akhand Paath is also sewa. Helping out a friend who is struggling emotionally. There are so many ways we can perform this sewa.

Let everything you do be Guru ki Seva.

After all, since you belong to Guruji, it's all being done in His service. Even the simplest things like brushing your teeth can be experienced as seva to your teeth so that you shine brighter. Living in this way, when people see you, they see Guruji through your radiance and presence.

It's about your state of mind. If you are not serving your own ego then who are you serving? As Guruji's banda, you are serving God in all, no exceptions.

Guru ki Seva is helping the poor. Waiting in a queue for 1 year in Golden Temple is not really Guru ki seva.

Guru ki Seva is :

taking care of your old parents.

Donating money to poor and honest people.

Donating money For Langar to Gurudwaras which are underdeveloped. Everyone wants to make his offering to the biggest Gurudwara.

Doing things that rid you of your pride.

Donating money to handicapped. etc.

Most important point is to remember never to keep expectation for reward, or else what ever you do is wasted.
