Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh ji

I live in Delhi and I am 20 yrs old. There is a Naam Abhiyas Camp to be conducted at fatehgarh sahib on 22 December 2018. It is a 10 days camp. I've never been to such camps and I really want to attend this. I know for sure that this would be a life changing camp for me. I would learn a lot of new things. But I also know that my parents won't allow me for this. I've never travelled alone away from Delhi. I don't know how to convince them. I don't want to miss this opportunity. Please help!

Can't you simply say that you want to be with your peers and learn from each other and from the GurSikh sevadars at the camp?

How about suggesting that someone else comes along? Either your parents, older siblings, cousin, aunt, etc.? That way you could go together? Was that their only concern?

My cousins and relatives are not that much interested in these things. Also, no one from my friends are going. My parents has the habit of comparing me with my friends wherever they get benefitted. They have the point that why only I have to go to all such places and all the outings. Why can't I just calm down and sit at home and do some work. Its nearly impossible to have a comeback for this!

yeah it can be difficult, but I also understand that this is a uniquely important aspect of your spiritual journey, so I agree with Guruka Singh Ji that perhaps just explaining that learning from others is the reason for going may be beneficial here.
