Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh!

It is always told that we should wake up at amrit vela which is the ambrosial hour bet 3-5 am. We face lots of difficulties but if we do an ardas a nite prior waheguru ji wakes us. I have felt this, but my question is after getting we recite the bani's (as its been only over a yr and half since I have taken amrit I am doing the paths) but am not understanding what I am reciting or I am not getting the feel. At times I feel I am simply doing it as a task but I think it should be more than that. Even getting up at amrit vella and just simply reading the banis I feel I am wrong somewhere, but do not understand where and how it should be done. Can some pyara pls advice so I can improve myself where I am lacking.

I would suggest read from Gutka Sahib which has English meaning on the facing page. That way if you want to find out what a pankti means, you can refer. You will have some pause while reciting, but it will be worth it.
