There was a discussion about this at our Gurdwara Sahib. It seems that some sources say that Mata Ji was pushed off the Thanda Burj, some say she jumped off, and some say she just had her last breaths as the young Sahibzaade were martyred. I am wondering where we can find the real history, or will this always be unknown?

Burj is tower , it is very windy and cold due to height, She was very old might have died of cold .

Thanda means cold, If she would have jumped then it must be definitely known.

This is the account given on Sikhiwiki. Had you read this before?

yes i'd read that one. That was always what I had heard growing up as well. It's just hard to figure out which sources are correct. One Gyani Ji at the Gurdwara was saying that he learned in his training that she had been pushed, but another Gyani Ji told me that he read a book that she jumped.

internet sources seem to be inconsistent on this as well. but it makes sense to me what it says on Sikhi wiki

My understanding is that she left her body voluntarily without committing suicide or being pushed. When you meditate on her, what do you see using your intuition (ajna) not your mind?
