I have personally been to a church before and to a Hindu Mandr (havent had a chance to go to a mosque yet) just to see what it was like and have a greater understanding of what it is like. I think in the pdf that maybe they meant not to idol worship because that is against Sikhi.

In most the mandir the pandit takes money for worship and the rituals are only polluting the surrounding environment like Govardhan in Mathura , there is a Mansi Ganga the water smells very bad , once i have took bath and got fever for 6-7 days .
