Yes, God will definitely help you from doing dirty things and going astray but you need to do Ardas in front of the Guru. Nevertheless masturbating is a normal activity for a person who is single, and not having active sex life. It's too difficult to suppress one's sexual feelings, and hence masturbating is the only source to relax oneself. But still if you feel that masturbating is wrong then the only way is to do Ardas so that the Guru gives you the strength from not doing so.
