Doing path is reciting or reading the words But when I google meditation, it talks about controlling your breath , etc etc Is there a way I can encorporate both

During paath just focus on understanding what you read and put your full concentration on that. As for the breath, you can do that when you are doing simran. Simran is a little different than meditation in that in meditation people can do lots of stuff- like some people look at candles or whatever. Simran is specifically focusing on Waheguru. The method of sass graas simran which is described in Gurbani focused on our breath because the breath is the basis of our life- without it, we die. That is the way to incorporate meditation.
