Only Akal Purakh knows the answer to your question. First, nobody knows for sure the exact period of Kalyug. There is a possibility that after the end of the Kalyug, there might be again the beginning of the Satyug or there is another possibility that the entire Solar System including this planet Earth comes to an end that means the end of the humanity.

Akal Purakh, the Creator himself created the Galaxy and hence he created the Human beings. So it's entirely up-to HIM as to when, how, and why to destroy this Galaxy. Nobody can give you the exact time frame and neither can one say that after the end of this Kalyug, again there would be the beginning of the Satyug, Tretayug, and Dwaparyug.

All we human beings ought to remember is WaheGuru. Yug's or no Yug's let's leave it to HIM.

The Yugas don't begin and end suddenly. Each flows into the next just as the seasons turn. It is a continuous cycle. Since the Kali Yug is 432,000 years long. Each yuga has phases.

Together, the four Ages comprise one Maha Yug (Great Age) of 4,320,000 years. The ratio of Yuga duration is thus 4:3:2:1 totaling the 4,320,000 years of Maha Yuga. Two thousand Maha Yugas (8,640,000,000 years) are said to equal merely one day and one night in the life of Brahm.

So it's all much bigger than our minds can comprehend.

In Siri Guru Granth Sahib the Swayas in praise of Guru Arjan Dev Ji (Ang 1407) this appears:

"By great good fortune, the mind is uplifted and exalted, and the Word of the Shabd dwells in the heart. The jewel of the mind is contented; the Guru has implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within. The Inaccessible and Unfathomable, Supreme Lord God is revealed through the True Guru. In the House of Guru Raam Daas, Guru Arjun has appeared as the Embodiment of the Fearless Lord. || 2 || The benign rule of Raja Janak has been established, and the Golden Age of Sat Yuga has begun. Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabd, the mind is pleased and appeased; the unsatisfied mind is satisfied. Guru Nanak laid the foundation of Truth; He is blended with the True Guru. In the House of Guru Raam Daas, Guru Arjun has appeared as the Embodiment of the Infinite Lord."

Our Gurus are harbingers of the Sat Yug which flows out of the Kali Yug.

I heared this in a kathavichar "when the thinking of people, society or a great number of population changes then the yuga is changed, this happen not suddenly, but gradually."
