I recently passed my cadet test and will now be deployed in domestic defence operations. I have joined the Canadian army, but sometimes I wonder if the wars they fight are even any of my business? Are they too political, Like wars on terrorism and such?

In fact it's excellent to join the defence forces and yes fighting wars on terrorism and against the social crimes and injustices that do exist in our society is perfectly O.K. That's what Sikhism teaches us.

Let your conscience be your guide. Remember we are all warriors. We fight on different battlefields in life. Let your life and your Sikhi be an inspiration to your fellow soldiers. Don't compromise your values and don't worry about politics. You have been guided to this service and in it you can both teach and learn.
