I can't remember the story properly, but a person who was good came to Guru Nanak Dev Ji and he hurt himself while a person who did bad things found a gold coin. He asked Guru ji why, and Guru Ji said he was meant to die but instead it was reduced to him hurting himself, whereas the other person was meant to find a treasure but that was reduced to a single coin.

Just have faith and everything will turn good, any path will help.
