what I do to avoid thoughts like that is I make the ardaas as detailed as possible (if these thoughts bug you, ask god to help you with it) and then surrender completely (I know it is kind of hard as we are tend to be control freaks). Surrender to god, (which means all the bad thoughts) and just simply stop judging the thoughts as well. One thing that seems to work for me is also, chanting waheguru with every breath (it calms down a lot of negativity) and throughout the day be conscious of what you watch, listen to etc. i personally really enjoy listening to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIhKjLm4A1Q
