Why does it matter? It’s a lot better to just be devotional without the need to judge. Yes, that does leave you subject to the culture and/or teachings which may not be historically true. But there’s enough truth in Sikhi that, if practiced in a genuine and disciplined manner, will deliver a positive and elevated experience and will deliver you to your merger with Infinity.
