The Deity (ARCHA VIGRAHA) form of the Lord is said to appear in eight varieties -- stone, wood, metal, earth, paint, sand, the mind or jewels. So the Supreme Lord manifests Himself for the benefit of us through the above 8 Materials and the Murti Vigraha is NON DIFFERENT from Himself.
