What a great question! Thanks so much for asking it. Right at the outset of Japji Sahib, Guru Nanak Dev Ji talks about the veil of illusion. The illusion that the physical world is reality when, in fact, it is all just pixels and the truth lies behind the screen. So many saints, gurus and philosophers have written about this. Have you read Plato's "The Cave?"

Because what lies behind the screen is beyond words to describe and, in fact, beyond the mind itself, it is for each person to discover and experience. No one can tell about it.

It's not that we are not perfect. We ARE perfect! We are all perfectly the way we are :-)

And yes, you are right, you CAN know the ways of God and you can constantly be surprised and delighted by them as they unfold at each moment.

Each person has exactly the consciousness and experiences they need to grow and learn according to their own soul and their own karmas.

The universe is a university. You have to pay attention in class or you will take the class over again until you are finally graduated. Everyone has to graduate sooner or later.

WAKE UP! (jaag)

Wake up! Now is the time! Wake up! Time is running Out Wake up! Sing God's praises and realize your destiny. Karma makes you sleepy. Dharma wakes you up. Wake up! Leave your errors behind you. Practice Raj Yoga NOW is the time! Wake up!
