Yes, it makes sense. What a good question. Thank you for this. Everyone has opinions, usually lots of them. Everyone gives advice. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, but every mistake happens for a reason, though we may not understand it at the time.

This is a "who do you trust?" question. In order to know, your intuition must be working. Use your neutral mind. Tune in to the person who is speaking. Watch them. Listen to the sound of their speech. It is not about "good people" and "bad people." It is about trust and alertness. Does the person have an agenda? Does the person want something from you? This is where your intuition comes in.

Yes, you can gain valuable insights from others. The Guru speaks to you everywhere, through everyone. Sometimes the message is what NOT to do. How NOT to live. Sometimes a truly compassionate and conscious person will hold up a mirror to you in which you can see and learn about yourself and how your words and actions affect others.

If you are looking for absolute truth, then the only place you will find it is in the Guru Granth Sahib. But even relative truths and even personal truths can be valuable in your own growth.

Perceptions? Well, everyone has their own frame of reference formed from their own concept of "how things work." Everyone filters reality through their frame of reference, discarding what does not fit and accepting what does.

It is a rare soul who can let go of his or her frame of reference and truly see, hear and be present with the presence of Waheguru within all people, all creatures and all things.
