That is called 'being a forklift.' When you open yourself and really listen to the other person, you can 'put yourself in their shoes,' i.e. feel what they are feeling and understand their frame of reference. Then, through your language and actions, you can meet that person at their level and uplift them. the formula is: Poke, Provoke, Confront, Elevate. Penetrate the person and then elevate the situation. If you are elevated yourself then you have the power to uplift every situation in life.
