NO debauchary is not required to feel happy.Doing more paath doesn't make you more Gurmukh.It is just the starting of understanding Gurbani and controlling and working your mind according to it.Look if you will not have self control or control over your senses you will never find peace and your questions will never end.It's like loosing from ego or winning youself.First try to meditate for one hour in a week and then gradually increase your practice.
