Marriage changes everything. You have three karmas in your life: family karma (comes through your DNA,) karmas you incurred in a previous incarnation, and karmas you have incurred so far in this incarnation. Your spouse has her own karmas in the same way. When you are married, all the karmas are thrown into the pot of the marriage to be cooked therein. Now you have your karmas, your spouse's karmas, and the karmas you incur together in your marriage. Arent you glad that marriage is designed to cook the karmas? In order to do that, you must engage with the work, self-check yourself and do a steady sadhana (meditation, paath, pranayama, etc.) and the work of your marriage must be openly shared. The fact is, you don't have a personal life anymore. You have a married life. So the bottom line is this: It's not about you. Serve your spouse and serve your marriage and forget about your self. Take care of others and let God take care of you.
