In Sikhism there have now become difference sects who follow their own sets of rules. Jhatka is wrong but it does not stop them from doing so, people are also afraid to get involved as they feel intimidated by these groups. Some of them use excuses like the Kirpans and Shastr have a thirst for blood which is ridiculous. People are looking excuses for eating meat and this is just one of the ways they feel it can be justified to do so.
