Yes. The consciousness can travel anywhere in the subtle body leaving the physical body behind. When traveling, the subtle body remains connected to the physical body through a "silver cord" that connects it to the navel point of the physical body. As long as this cord is there, the subtle body will return to the physical body. Have you ever had that experience when falling asleep that your body makes a sudden jerk? That's a reflex reaction of fear at the moment the subtle body is leaving. It pulls the subtle body back into the physical body. Many children tell their parents they can fly. The parent often says "Honey, you just imagined (or dreamed) you could fly. It's not real." But actually it is real. Children can more easily travel in their subtle body than most adults. In the subtle body, you can go anywhere. You can hear without any ears and you can see without any eyes. The subtle body holds these perceptions without needing the physical organs. When the silver cord is broken at the time of death, the subtle body disconnects from the physical body and the pranas leave the physical body.

There are many ways to train yourself to consciously travel in your subtle body, but they way that I use is to chant "Ek Ong Kaar, Saat Naam, Sri Wahe Guru" in the long form for two and a half hours (150 minutes) and then lie down on my back and cover my body with my shawl. Often, my subtle body leaves my physical body within seconds of lying on my back and completely relaxing.

No, another soul cannot enter your body when your consciousness is traveling elsewhere in your subtle body. No worries there.
