I think you were trying to ask why some people party, some people drink, some people cut their hair? Why some people do things and others don't is just entirely subjective- it can be whatever reason. I think there are a lot of factors like peer pressure, the type of people we grow up with, family influences, etc. and then popular culture, what you think will give you happiness and pleasure, etc. So people do a lot of things to experience pleasure. Kaal pulls us in and keeps us entertained with the 5 thieves. A lot of people don't understand enough about Sikhi to know that, and to understand that that pleasures on this earth are temporary and we should be seeking connection to God. There is nothing wrong with enjoying this life- traveling, socializing or parties in themselves as "Not at all Punjabi" pointed out. But its a different way of looking at it when you understand there's more to life.

But its a different way of looking at it when you understand there's more to life. life and life is not JUST about what's on this earth. And i guess partying is a lot different when alcohol is involved anyways.
