2019-03-12 00:59:03 -0500 answered a question Do an amritdhari girl is required to cover her head always?

Veerji you are right. I am confused between the 2 sides of the same thing and I don't know which one should I believe and follow. Both sides have their own value and perception. The thing is my parents also don't support me in this and it's like me versus all the people I know. Also I have no one to motivate me that what I am doing is right. People believe this is kattarta. Is it bad that I don't want to stand out. I prefer getting mixed among people so that no one could notice me, but the things I do grabs the attention of people and I don't like being noticed.

Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh ji Waheguru ji, Its been 4 years since I have taken Amrit. I cover my head while reciting gurbani or doing path. But I don't cover my head all the time. I know that our kesh need to be covered.. It is there in the 52 hukams of Guru Gobind Singh ji. I also don't feel a problem in that. Infact I want to wear Dastar also but can't do it for some reasons. I am pursuing graduation and I go to college daily. I once wore dumalla for a samagam and I didn't wanted to take it off but I had to.. So, I started covering my head with a stall afterwards. But whenever there is a function or something, my friends who also are Amritdharis, but don't cover their heads, they ask me to remove the stall.. Atleast in the photographs. I also have heard from people that outside looks don't matter. This is dhong as I am not free from the 5 evils.. I have Ego, I get angry at small things. If I can't change my attitude, If I am not pure from inside.. Then wearing a stall always, and not attending functions, avoiding social interactions, not wearing earrings or doing make up.. These all things are of waste. Also the day I have started to forgone these things, My friends taunt me by saying bhagat ji.. Mahapursho Kind of words. These do feel good to hear but they can also increase the level of ego I have. We shouldn't hear praises for ourselves. Those who praise us, come to steal what we have earned while meditating. These things make people think that I am very religious and spiritual. Bhagat Namdev ji was so spiritual but no one knew about his spirituality. We should meditate while maintaining secrecy. I am very confused about all these things. I don't know what should I do.. Also my sister said that whatever I decide, I should maintain that thing my entire life. So if I chose to cover my head, I should do that all the time or not at all. Putting a stall whenever I feel like.. Is dhong and I should never do that. I am really confused about what Is right. Please guide me the right path sangat ji! Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh ji

2018-10-29 10:54:07 -0500 answered a question Naam abhiyas camp

My cousins and relatives are not that much interested in these things. Also, no one from my friends are going. My parents has the habit of comparing me with my friends wherever they get benefitted. They have the point that why only I have to go to all such places and all the outings. Why can't I just calm down and sit at home and do some work. Its nearly impossible to have a comeback for this!

Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh ji

I live in Delhi and I am 20 yrs old. There is a Naam Abhiyas Camp to be conducted at fatehgarh sahib on 22 December 2018. It is a 10 days camp. I've never been to such camps and I really want to attend this. I know for sure that this would be a life changing camp for me. I would learn a lot of new things. But I also know that my parents won't allow me for this. I've never travelled alone away from Delhi. I don't know how to convince them. I don't want to miss this opportunity. Please help!

2018-09-30 11:52:45 -0500 asked a question Can amritdharis eat jhoot of amritdharis

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh ji

My sister is an Amritdhari. I have seen her many times sharing her plate with her friends which are non-amritdharis. Due to this habit, I avoid eating her jhoota. Even not only her's I have seen many other Amritdharis as well who don't mind eating jhoota of non amritdharis. This made me doubt everyone and now I don't prefer sharing my plate with them. My sister says that I overthink on this matter and that I have a suspicious attitude. She says refusing to eat with non amritdharis would hurt their sentiments and it will make them feel inferior. But then, why do the panj pyaras guides towards eating with only the amritdharis and not the rest? Please tell me where I am going wrong and what should be done?

2018-09-06 08:38:01 -0500 asked a question Meaning of this hukamnama

Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh ji

Waheguru ji whenever I go to take hukamnama or even listen or read at the gurdwara sahib, 90% of the times I come across this particular hukmanama. It is said that the hukamnama is the answer of your inner questions. But the problem is I don't have any particular question that could be related with this hukamnama. I have tried to read the meaning again and again as I know that maharaj wants me to understand something which I am not getting. It is happening since a really long time and its bothering me a lot. Can anyone please help me by telling me what waheguru ji is trying to teach! Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh ji

I wanted to ask If a girl who wears dastaar can wear choorha at her wedding? Also I want to know if she can apply mehndi on her hands, as I have seen many photographs of sikh women wearing dastaar who have applied mehndi on their hands.

2018-07-10 09:25:22 -0500 asked a question I am isolating myself

Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh

I am a college student studying in Delhi University. I have completed 2 years of college. I made many friends during this period. Guru ji also blessed me with a good sangat which brought me more closer to Maharaj. A lot of things have changed in my life but now I don't feel like talking to anybody often. I don't know whether its a good change or not. I have stopped socializing, I deactived all my social media accounts, I don't feel the urge to share my things with people. I feel like everyone is temporary, which is true. I don't want to get attached to them. I am not upset or depressed, I feel satisfied this way. But many of my friends now feel that I've cut off with them for god knows what reason, some think that I'm rude or egoistic because I don't start a conversation unless it is necessary. I also don't want to upset them or isolate them either. Whenever they plan an outing or something I avoid going with them. I better chose to stay at home or go to Gurdwara Sahib to do Sehaj path instead of wasting time wandering around. I don't know if what I am doing is right. Please give me suggestions about what should be done. Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh
