Do Ardaas to Guru ji everyday. Do simran and Mool Mantar paath

Nobody is higher than Guru ji. Its all under his control. Also, try something. Tell her to stop it. If she sees you are speaking up for yourself she will stop.

Also, dont let that effect you. Tell your parents! They will help you

2014-02-15 21:09:55 -0500 answered a question I broke my amrit

I am happy you want to go back to where you belong. Know that you are not alone, Guru ji is always with you. Do Ardas say sorry to Guru ji and make a commitment that you wont need to go on wrong path again.

Ask for his Amrit blessings and go to the next Amrit Sanchar. Dont feel scared, Guru Gobind Singh ji says never to feel scared when doing something right. Now you are going to walk on right path, why should you feel scared? Do Ardas that Guru ji hold my hand and dont let me break Amrit Again

Also, trust me i was scared when i went for my Amrit Sanchar. I was kinda scared when I was sitting there too. But when they called me forward, i dont know what happend, i really felt 0 fear. It was so awesome

2013-11-10 00:09:04 -0500 answered a question doing paath

Sat Siri Akal!

I think you are doing absolutely correct. You are remembering the Giver, the Doer of all the things. You are praying the one who actually is the Creator and who actually will create the results of your exams. Some people do pakhand by going to some dhokhe baz babbe. You are doing right. But I think there is nothing to hide from your parents. Rather, you should create an example for them too. And maybe your all can gather and do it together! Although you are doing Paath and Ardaas to pass your exams. Remember that this Paath and Ardaas that you do actually serves a more bigger purpose than passing a worldly exam. We all will die, and go to Dharamraj ( as Guru Granth Sahib ji says). At that time, this paath and Ardaas that you have done in this life will save you. So just keep in mind that it is very beneficial to you. Also,Guru Sahib ji tells us to be desire less. I normally do Ardaas telling Guru ji and say it is all your Will and please make me happily accept your Will with peace. I normally dont say that make me pass a test. I rather say that whatever you do is acceptable to me. And Guru Sahib ji helps us :)

2013-11-08 22:45:44 -0500 answered a question Confused about whether I must keep my hair

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

One of the best things in our generation is that we are allowed to ask why. We are often unsure about so many things and in today's time there are many people who are very happy answering our questions!

Our Gurus did prohibit cutting hair. And there is a very goood reason behind it. Vaisakhi, which we celebrate every year was started by Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji. He told his sikhs not to do 5 things - You can read description of it here. It has Punjabi in it too as the primary source and proof. http://www.damdamitaksaal.org/index.p... " . Hajamat – Cutting, plucking, dying Kesh

Cutting hair is strictly forbidden in Gurmat. From your head down to your toes, no hair is to be plucked, cut, burnt or chemically/surgically removed. Kesh are not to be dyed by any method whatsoever and the plucking of hair is not permitted.42

ਸਾਬਤ ਸੂਰਤ ਰੱਬ ਬਣਾਈ ॥ ਬੇਈਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਭੰਨ ਗਵਾਈ ॥

"God made the human form perfect, but the treacherous has altered it And made it lose its natural beauty."

"The treacherous has altered the perfect human body, Making it lose its natural beauty. He/She will not get acceptance in the court of God And is an infidel, a dog and is devil like."

42 When people start to age they start dying their hair black/brown or plucking their white hairs, this is forbidden and vanity is to be relinquished by enshrining the Guru’s teachings

Keeping your Kesh is essential. Upon the death of a relative, the deceased’s hair is not to be shaved off. The cutting of hair is prohibited in other religions as well, but in Gurmat cutting hair is a cardinal sin and results in a person being an outcast. You are to guard against committing this cardinal sin. Your Kesh are not to be washed with ashes or clay, they are to be washed with shampoo, yoghurt or lasee. Lying down with your Kesh uncovered or partaking in any action with your Kesh uncovered is strictly forbidden. You are not to enter a dusty, dirty place with your Kesh uncovered. Cutting the Kesh or piercing the ears/noses of your children is strictly forbidden. The hair of children is not to be tied in dreadlocks. From a young age, the Kesh of your children are to be combed with a Kangha.

"The complete form of man is with a beard, which is left untied. The Kesh are combed with a wooden Kangha."

Amritdharee Singhs are to keep their beards open and untied."

Pritam Singh ji- listening is good too. But this listening should be how it is described in Japji Sahib. Listening with all your consciousness.

2013-10-18 12:25:31 -0500 answered a question Is the Phal (benefit) of listening and reciting Naam the same?

Pooja - Naam is Waheguru. There are many places where 'raam' 'allah' is used in Guru Granth Sahib ji. This is not referring to any other religion. It is written in such way so that the message Guru Nanak Dev ji, or others where trying to give could be understood to local people who were majority of Hindu and Muslims.

In Guru Granth Sahib ji it says-

Guru Guru Jap meet hamare Wahe means increadible or beyond words as in 'wow' Guru means one who brings light and diminishes darkness

I am not sure about the rules of Australia. You can talk to other Gursikhs there and ask what are the Kirpan rules. Also, educate your boss about Kirpan and Sikhi so they understand better. And about meat - shouldnt kids eat their food themself?

2013-08-11 17:12:58 -0500 answered a question Afraid to be Amritdhari.

Do not be afraid! You should be scared if you are doing something wrong. Our father Guru Gobind Singh ji blesses us with Amrit and gives us His love. Do your Nitnem, seva, Ardaas, do Simran daily - start from 5 minutes and increase

2013-08-11 17:11:10 -0500 answered a question I could do with some advice on how to be a better person?

What are you scared of? Don't you think your should do what feels correct to your soul. Our soul is purest, it is infact form of Waheguru (Just like a droplet is part of ocean). Your soul wants to be connected with Waheguru, why are you stopping it? :) There is nothing wrong. Infact, you are blessed to have yourself awakened and feel the need to do Paath, Simran, make Parshad. Guru ji is blessing you with their love! :)

If you are scared because you have been doing things before like smoking etc. Remember, that we ALL have done tons and tone of sins in past. We ALL have made so many mistakes which is why we have piles and piles of dirt and bad Karams. We wash this dirt of maya and Karams with Naams Simran, Amrit, Seeva, Nitnem. I have known so many people who you could never accept to become Sikhs and now such great Gursikhs! Guru ji's Kirpa!

Do not worry about your family. Rather, they will get blessed because of your actions. A mother can make a house heaven! :)

2013-08-11 17:03:51 -0500 answered a question young adult daughter betrayed our trust

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

I can understand how you feel. It is true that every Guru Ka Sikh wants to install Gursikhi in his/her children, but it is all Guru Sahib's Will.

Everything happens because of Guru Sahib's Will and individual's past Karams. We all are bound by Karams of previous and this life. It is only when our Karams finish up, then we meet Waheguru. You also wished that your child would walk on Guru ji's Path but it is hard to understand that this creation is all His, and He does as He pleases. Even though we want our family to be Sikhs, but we should understand that nothing is ours, it is His creation. I understand it is easy to say but hard to do. As Guru ji's Sikhs and part of Khalsa, look at other children who have so much love for Guru Sahib in our Panths. They are our brother sisters, and children as well.

Also, do not think that anything went wrong in your parenting. Again, it is Maharaj's Will. He makes us do, speak, behave the way He wants. He is making your daughter function according to His Will as well.

What you can do is do Ardaas to Maharaj. I have seen families change drastically. In my own family, I have seen miracles happening. I have been going through very same phase previously. I would be depressed and constantly put all my effort to make my family close to Guru Sahib ji. But one elderly Sikh told me - If you yourself focus on becoming True Gursikh, all your ancestors will get Guru's love. I do not know what that moment was when she was telling me this, but by His Grace those words got stuck in my heart and I left trying so hard to bring my family towards Sikhi and put all that energy in making myself close to Guru ji. Now, my family also is moving towards Sikhi.

2013-08-10 18:10:45 -0500 answered a question Ridhs & Sidhs

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Waheguru... Maharaj does not like peole who steal others Kirpa using Ridhi Sidhi. People can get Shaktis by performing ridhi sidhi but Guru ji says they can never obtain Darshann like this. Its good you concentrated on Guru ji. But if I were you and felt somebody was doing these evil things... I would call Waheguru Waheguru out in my mind really loudly.. Soo many Nihungs and All the Guru Sahib would come to protect all the Sangat. I would loudly in my mind ask for protection. You can do seva now to protect other people. Never go near those people again who do these evil things, warn all the sangat as much as you can that these things happen there. Also, do Ardaas to Maharaj ji and say Guru ji please protect sangat and give sojhi (sumatt) to people who do evil things. Try to tell elder Gursikhs that this happens so he/she can do something.

Also, if you or other Sangat feels a difference... do not loose your mind and do constant kamai to get everything back. Do Ardaas

2013-08-07 15:53:12 -0500 answered a question can ee wear beanie

It is wrong to wear hats or caps. The answer lies in the question - Why do we wear a Dastaar. It is because of Dawam Dwar and it's importance. You might want to research more on what Dasam Dwar is

We do not wear caps because our father Guru Gobind Singh ji himself wore a dastaar and encouraged others to wear.
