I practice Kundalini Yoga. I very much enjoy reading sacred texts, and my teacher had suggested I read the Guru Granth Sahib. That is how it began. I greatly respect the Guru and wanted to adhere to that.

I am not a Sikh woman, however I follow many of the tenets, I do not shave or cut my hair, do not consume alcohol, am vegetarian and do not cook meat in my home, nor do I have sex outside of marriage.

I was concerned that not following one of these would be a disrespect to the Guru, and it is very important to me that I do not that.

You have set my mind and self at ease, but have also given me something to ponder.

I have the Guru Granth Sahib in my home. I am a women and am considering shaving to begin acting auditioning. Will this be a great disrespect to the Guru? If so, would I move the Guru to a Sikh temple in order to honor the Guru? Thank you.
