Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fathe.

I have my exams starting in 2 weeks and I'm terrified. I have 5 exams out of my 6 subjects. I can't seem to remember too much when I try to do my revision. And because of that I get anxious. I believe that I can in a couple of days if I try really hard I'm going to be on top of it all but I don't know every time I try to revise I feel helpless all over again.

I have procrastinated somewhat over past weeks and I'm not proud of that but I'm just scared. I'm just scared that I haven't put enough effort for Waheguru Ji to help me. i think that Waheguru ji doesn't want to help me and Guru Ji is angry at me. I feel really scared. I love God and I'm such a fool.

What should I do? I really want to do very good on all my exams. right now writhing this I feel really anxious.

How does one go about gaining back confidence and believing in themselves? Will God help me is God angry at me? What should I do?

Please do Ardass for me, and everyone else in the world, to not lose hope and always stay in chardi kalla.

I hope I'm not being selfish, please forgive me if I am.

I'm sorry if this question is pointless and stupid.

Thank You.

2015-10-30 08:31:19 -0500 marked best answer Correct Pronunciation

Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fathe

I was looking through the app igranth to find the shabad... 'enhi ki kirpa ke saje hum hai'

but then I realised that in the amrit kirten the shabad was written as 'enhi ki kirpa ke saje hum hai nahi mo se gareb karo rap ree' however in the igranth app the line was... 'enhi ki kirpa ke saje hum hai nahi mo so gareb karo rap ree'

is it 'so' or 'se' that is my question.

I think that it is 'so' but not sure.

2015-10-30 08:30:49 -0500 marked best answer Why the name Kaur?

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fathe!

Can anyone please tell me why Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave Sikh girls the name Kaur which means princess???? I guess I was wrong it is not prince but princess. I get really confused because in people say it means prince and others say it means princess. Sorry, but what do you suppose Guru Gobind Singh Ji was trying to say by giving us the name Kaur????

Thankyou :)

2015-10-30 08:30:47 -0500 marked best answer Loneliness

Vaheguru ji ka Khalsa, Vaheguru ji ki Fathe,

Please take the time o read this, I just want my story to be heard.

I have lived in a place where there is no turbaned sikh girl. I feel alone because need someone to understand me. I have been alone for at least 8 years. We, my parents, my brother and I went to India and on our way back I cried and cried because when I compared my life in my home country with India I felt really sad. I don't have anyone to talk to so I pretend to talk to My Guru, I mean my Guru is always with me, right? so I'm sure that my Guru will be listening. I am different but I don't want that to change because I LOVE my Turban. I look so awesome in it :)

I'm still in school and I have friends but they don't understand. There's nothing wrong with that but... I want a sikh girl that has the kind of attitude that I have towards Sikhi. I want to beable to discus the battles fought by the Sikh. I want to be able to discuss about the current issues in today's society. I want to know that there is someone that appreciates guys that have beards. I just think that the beard just brings out the personality of a guy and makes them look really handsome. All the girls that I know like clean, shaving guys.

But most of all I just want a friend to talk to about my family life and espacially sikhism. When we were at Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar, I met this really beautiful girl that was wearing a turban, well i didn't meet her but I said Fathe. I had tears in my eyes, that girl was the daughter of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, like me. I wanted to talk to her but couldn't. I mean how unique is the turban? I did't even know her but since she was wearing a turban and so was I we greeted each other with a polite nod and a huge smile as if to say Vaheguru ji ka Khalsa, Vaheguru ji ki Fathe. That was the most amazing thing that had happened to me and it was at Harmandir Sahib, my favourite place on earth! That was years ago and I now regret not talking to her.

you know typing all this actually makes me feel better but that lonely feeling of mine will never go away. I constantly do ardass to my guru about being able to talk to a sikh that is really in LOVE with Sikhi like I am. I hate being alone.

If anyone has advice please, please help me. I hate being lonely, I constantly find my self wiping away tears but I don't want to feel this way it is horrible. I hate feeling depressed. Is there anyone that ... (more)

I don't know what to do but I do believe that God will help me, I really put my trust in God but I'm still very doubtful and I hate that. I just want it to stop. I want to just get rid of these thoughts I HATE IT! I start to cry and cry but I know that it doesn't help but I just can't seem to see the light at the end of my dark tunnel. I just want to be with my Guru. That is all I want! I hate stress I HATE IT!

2014-06-12 18:31:59 -0500 answered a question with time everythingg change so why we wear kacha?

Sorry to be blunt but seriously? Come on. This is like saying that the dastar should not be worn because it is not what modern people wear. Its is one of the four kakars. The kacha must be worn by a Gursikh. Its Guru's hukam. The kachera is the symbol of modesty. To control lust. One thing that this modern age needs to control. The purpose of the kacha is a lot more relevant now than it was back then.

Also what is wrong with the clothes of 'that time'? I don't understand. Women still wear salvar kamij. Men still wear kurta pajama. The banna is the clothes of the Khalsa and should be worn with honour. It looks beautiful on both men and women. It a type of clothing that is simple to make and easy to wear. Other modern cloths are provocative. (Some not all) Honestly Sikhi teaches to stand on your own feet be aware of what is right and what is wrong and think for yourself. Sikhi is not a blind faith and our Guru's never taught us to be blind.

Anyway there's no point. Do your won research first just google kachara and read why Sikhs wear it. Then think for your self. Do we need it or not?

Thank you

Whaeguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fathe.

I don't exactly agree with you about how a guy and a girl can't just be friends. I think that they can. I have many guys who are my friends and I have no feeling for them at all. I respect them as my brothers like my Guru told me to. I'm very well aware of the Indian culture and I stay well away from guys from school if I see them anywhere in public. It's not my parents, they trust me, its the Indian society they will make up stories where ever possible. Its best to be alert.

I think that your decision to keep a distance is a very respectable and wise thing to do. I totally understand, and I would do the same thing.

2013-11-09 07:40:37 -0500 answered a question Simplycity

Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fathe.

Simple living is honest living, in my eyes. If someone is simple they do not need anyone's compliments to tell them that they are beautiful. (I've got nothing against designed clothes or make up.)Personally I think that simple people are beautiful. You could, I guess call them separate but not in God's eyes, only in ours.

However, if someone is not honest they would need make up. People who have clear minds do not need designed clothes. People who solely focus on Waheguru do not need complicated things, just simple things. They need satisfaction of their heart not their mind.

In the movies girls that wear simple dresses are the most beautiful girls same goes for real life.

I have been told by many people that simple people are good, honest, kind and sensible people. I can guarantee you that someone who is not honest or kind or sensible will not ear simple cloths or look simple. I may be wrong but thats up to you to decide.

All I can say is that simplicity is the key.

2013-10-21 10:44:53 -0500 answered a question Change lifestyle towards Sikhi.

Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fathe.

I seriously had the same problem. You probably already know that habits are hard to break so realise that its going to take a while before you actually start waking up at amrit vella.

Obviously if you want to wake up early you need to go to sleep early so do that. For one day force yourself to stop what ever your doing and just go to sleep. Choose an ideal time to go to sleep. perhaps around 8 or 9 o'clock. be in bed by that time. if you can't go to sleep continually say waheguru waheguru out loud when u breathe in say wahe then when you breathe our say guru. hopefully u'll fall asleep. set your alarm for 3 or 4 o'clock.

Get out of bed and force yourself to the shower. try having a shower with cold water to really wake you up. Then sit on the floor or somewhere where you won't want to lie down and fall asleep. Then do your nitnem. When you've done that you'll feel so satisfied that you not only did your nitnem but you also woke up at amrit vela.

Do this for a week or two making sure u sleep at the same time everyday and get up at the same time. Eventually you won't even need an alarm to wake you but but keep it on just in case.

you can seriously do this. the only thing is to get started and not give up. Do ardass to guru and you will get there.

Hope that this helps.

2013-09-14 07:17:46 -0500 answered a question Tobacco/Smoking

Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fathe.

Habits are incredible hard to get rid of and it can take a very long time but keep at it and never give up. When you get up in the morning look at youself in the mirror and say that you are the son/daughter of Guru Gobind Singh. I'll tell you right now that you will not be able to look in to your eyes and say it because you know that you are not all because of your unhealthy habit.

Keep that in your mind and trust me when you have quit smoking for good and you are able to say that to yourself without hesitation that feeling of accomplishment and the love you will feel from your Guru will never leave you.

Conquer your mind and your habit will go away. Go to your doctor and seek help. Get the support of your family and that journey will not be so hard or depressing. And when you emerge from your tunnel you will be an entirely different person.

As for your question, yes and no. God obviously does listen and yes it is effective but your disobeying the rehat set by Guru Gobind Singh. Who's ardass do you think that the guru listens to first with full heart? His devotional Sikhs. The effectiveness of your ardass increases as you become a person that keeps the rehat and recites God's praises not just a person that's a Sikh. 'rehat piari muj ko Sikh piara nahe'

I hope that helped.

2013-07-01 07:17:52 -0500 answered a question Women's turban size

Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fathe.

Personally, I think that big turbans look amazing on girls. It shows confidence and pride. I have two main turbans that I wear and one's 6.5m which is the one I wear sometimes and one is 5m. The 5m one I wear all the time to school and stuff. I've had almost 16 years of practice of wearing a turban and all i can tell you is wear the turban size YOU are comfortable with not other people.

My turban size is i guess is 'normal'. not too big and not too small. and how can a 2m turban be big? mine is 5m! by the sounds of the lengths of my turbans it may seem that my turban is big but it really is not. Be comfortable with your turban, who cares what others think. Experiment with your turban, tie it differently and practice wearing different lengths cause i had the same problem my hair was too thick as well as long but now my hair is not think any more its still long but not thick so my turban fits a lot better and stuff.

responsible for your own actions. If you mess up its your fault. You need to be so sure that you are never going to do that again. If you you are very sorry and regretful then take amrit again. :) If you are tempted aftr taking amrit remember that your wearing a karra and that Guru ji is always watching you.

I reckon that you should wear a thick somewhat heavy karra that you know you not gonna forget that ur wearing it. and also repeat waheguru in your mind every time and you are going to forget those things that tempted you in the past. God bless u brother. All the best, believe in your self and your guru and remain in chardi kalla and i promise you, you will find your way and do what is right for u in the end. :)
