This is something I have been wondering I am about 26 recently have been experiencing anxiety , I am at the point , where I am wondering if I should start medication. But I am also wondering can path fix anxiety ? What is anxiety ? Is this made up in my brain. Unlike physical ailments , mental ailments tend to not be taken seriously and sometimes it’s labeled as imaginary.

What should I do. Start medication or can path actually fix my anxiety? If so which types of path are helpful towards anxiety

It's not so simple my name isn't just kaur , I have a last name , they inquire about that last name as if taunting it

I am even scared to say it on here. But how do I repond to Punjabi people who ask me about my last name ? They are obviously jatts and I am not.

This has been an issue I have faced my entire life , I am born into a Sikh family but we are of a lower caste

it took a lot of struggle from my family to rise above , all my family consist of doctors and I am becoming a doctor right now.

But this question has still always haunted me , so what's ur last name? What are you? This all comes from Punjabi people. They are not going to see how smart I am , they are not going to see my spiritual discipline, they won't see my dedication . that one question , when asked , devalues my accomplishments completely , I don't even know what to say anymore . I used to make excuses (you name it and I have given all of them)

But right now as I am getting older I am exhausted , please tell me how do I respond as a Sikh , when Punjabi people ask me about my caste?

I am currently doing professional school but every time I call home , there is always something wrong My parents have always fought, I don't remember the time they were ever happy. My father is an abusive man, he is both physically and emotionally abusive to my mom. But my mom is living with him because , he is the one who is paying my tuition. I feel constantly depressed , because I cannot really do anything, even emotionally I cannot support her because professional school is very high level stress environment and I would fail if I didn't focus most of my energy on studying.

I don't really know what to do , as my father keeps getting abusive by the day , and my mom keeps tolerating it since she dreams of me becoming a doctor. I am constantly depressed , unhappy and don't really talk to anyone.

I am not sure whether I am right or wrong. But my normal pattern is that I don't really talk to anyone that much, I have a few friends and a few acquaintances that I am cool with. But other people have raised questions on the way I am, i.e. My parents and friends they tell me that I am going to be lonely and end up alone if I don't really make an effort to make friends or close relationships

But I usually don't feel a void , I am quite happy when I am studying and when I do path or when I excercise. And these things take so much of my time that I don't really feel the need to be chasing friends. I am usually confused whether I living life the right way, because I don't have many friends and I don't feel like making friends , is there something wrong with me?

I get extremely frustrated with Punjabi people . So I am someone who has a white sounding last name, and there are some Indians that have that , maybe from the Generations that did decide to convert to Christianity. That is besides the point , I am a Sikh, but my last name is not brar, sidhu , Dillon etc. i just have a differnet last name that I feel like it doesn't matter if I change it or not, because i am a Kaur , i am more Sikh than they are, i.e. I am vegetarian , do path every single day , don't cut my hair. Yet they always feel like the need to point it out or look at me strange and I feel excluded from them.

How do i deal with this , I have been dealing with this from a long time.

Is it bad that I listen to music that is other than Gurbani and I enjoy it ?

I have noticed that I do become emotionally attached to one person . I am not sure if it comes from a place of insecurity . So my friends are non Indian , non Sikh. Recently I have noticed that that one friend I thought was a good girl and I considered myself close to her , she has been acting different , just something about her seems different . She has started hanging out with other people and last night went out drinking and I am only finding about this right now . I just never thought that I cared so much until now , I always end up feeling emotionally attached to Atleast one person. Because obviously I want to have friends . But my values and morals I feel like isolate myself (not that I would change them) I still want to have a sense of belonging in the world Help

It bother me sometimes when i see people close to me eat meat I think it is hypocricy at its finest , when they go like aww what a cute baby cow, aww look chickens, but later the same day, they are like yo pass me the ribs and some good ol bacon If this is not hypocricy i dont know what is What should i do? Recently it has been making me sick , sad and slightly angry

Doing path is reciting or reading the words But when I google meditation, it talks about controlling your breath , etc etc Is there a way I can encorporate both

For sure I am not going to let them drink. But yes I do have a seperate room where I pray. Should I just let them order the food so they eat in the guest room. But not allowed in the room?
