2013-04-05 07:33:57 -0500 answered a question We saw in Gurudwaras that kirpaan is used for parsad, Why we used kirpaan for that, is there any specific reason

since the times of guru sahib ji, it has been a tradition in sikhi that when ever langar is prepared it was first given to guru sahib ji and then it was served in the sangat after being blessed by the guru ji. we all know a sakhi of guru Harrai Sahib Ji and bhai Gonda ji, langar was prepared and was ready for the guru ji to bless it so that it can served in the sangat but guru ji kept sitting in samadhi untill mid day and then seeing that sikhs requested that guru ji sangat is hungry please bless the food so that it may be served to the sangat ... so the point is that LANGAR has to served to the GURU Ji first ..... and now why to the KIRPAN now a days

when guru gobind singh ji was in abchal nagar he asked mata SAHIB Kaur Ji to go to delhi, she replied that she has this promise that she wouldn't eat untill she has seen Guru Gobind Singh Sahib JI's face every morning and said that she would die of starvation as she cannot eat without guru sahib darshan. hearing this guru sahib gave her FIVE SHASTAR and said make food every morning and put these five shastars on a clean cloth and do ardaas you will have my darshan off these shastars every single day. so that day guru sahib gave his own roop to shastar which we call kirpaan today.

so kirpan is guru sahib himself that is why DEG and LANGAR is served to Kirpan(guru ji) first and then to the sangat and that is reason to respect your kirpan and offer it the same respect you give to guru sahib.

guru ji gives kirpan even higher status than himself saying in his bani that it is my PEER, guru.

as kripaan khando kharrag tupak tabar aur theer saif sarohee saithee yehai hamaarai peer

2013-04-05 06:52:15 -0500 answered a question WHY DO WE ALLOW THIS ????

i apologise in advance for any mistakes ...

all the problems mentioned aboved have one common issue (which is also reflected in the comment to the question by the initiator himself) and that is I, haume, ego and then there is DESIRE(trishna) to control, sit on the chair of authority and feel proud.guru has told us this...

thrishna lage rach rehiaa antar haumai koor

we all know everything is in HUKAM then why all this mentioned above happens ... as guru says

kabeer saachaa satgur kyaa karai jo sikha meh chook

so many of us, as individuals are not on the right track ... we not only have to read and listen to the gurbani, parae sunae kiaa hoee, jo sehaj n milio soee, but we have to live gurbani, satgur ki banee sath saroop hai gurbanee baneeai ,

and if we need to kill any of the 5's then that is I, EGO ... and that will solve most of the issues around .... as SSS Yogi JI says ... when EGO is lost, limit is lost. you become INFINITE KIND and BEAUTIFUL

and very very humble request.... singh ji when you write your name, you should read it as well ... NIHANG = ni + hang, ni means NO and hang means I (main) so when there there is no-self( I ), no EGO left in anyone he/she can use the salutation given by our guru maharaj which is NIHANG.

a SIKH is a name of a journey, which starts from the stage of being NIHANG and when it reaches at it's very peak then it is called KHALSA.

i apologies again and again for my mistakes as we all are learning with the hope of becoming KHALSA one day.

that is why we say WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA and WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

2012-12-20 04:14:01 -0500 answered a question Reciting Banis

guru ji teaches us to remember,jap,contemplate.... god every single breath and there is another way he puts the same idea forward, is by saying the same thing with the time format .... for example

  • aath pehar har kae gun gaao(Twenty-four hours a day, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord)

  • aath pehar har kae gun gaavai bhagat praem ras maathaa(Twenty-four hours a day, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, absorbed in loving devotional worship)

  • aath pehar har kae gun gaavai simarai dheen dhaiala(One who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, twenty-four hours a day, and remembers the Lord in meditation, who is Kind to the poor)

and then guru ji says the same thing in yet another way...

  • oothath baithath sovath jaagath har dhiaaeeai sagal avaradhaa jeeo(While standing and sitting, while sleeping and while awake, meditate on the Lord, all your life)

  • oothath baithath sovath naam(While standing up, sitting down and sleeping, the Naam)

  • oothath baithath sovath jaagath sadhaa sadhaa har dhiaaeeai(Sitting down, standing up, sleeping and waking, forever and ever, meditate on the Lord)

and what would happen if anybody does this ....

  • saas saas har gaavai nanak satgur taak leeaa maera parada jeeo(With each and every breath, Nanak sings the Lord's Praises. The True Guru has covered my sins)
2012-12-19 11:35:59 -0500 answered a question Reciting Banis

countless times guru ji have asked us to jap/remember Akal purakh with each and every single breath ... and we all breath while we take shower or even we go to loo .... it does not matter if its japji sahib, anand sahib or waheguru mantar or any other bani(they are all the same)... hope this answers your question ....

here are only very few examples from shiri guru granth sahib ji maharaj...

  • saans saans simarahu gobindh(With each and every breath, meditate in remembrance on the Lord of the Universe)

  • saas saas prabh thumehi dhiaavo(With each and every breath, may I meditate on You, O God)

  • tis prabh ko saas saas chithaaree(think of God with each and every breath)

  • man saas saas simarahu prabh oochae(O mind, with each and every breath, remember God)

  • gagaa gobidh gun ravahu saas saas jap neeth(GAGGA: Chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe with each and every breath; meditate on Him forever)

  • har dhiaavahu saas giraas(Meditate on the Lord, with every breath and morsel of food)

  • saahi saahi thujh sanmalaa kadhae n visaaraeo(With each and every breath, I dwell upon You; I shall never forget You)

2012-12-17 10:02:59 -0500 answered a question How can I get rid of laziness?

i dont know if you can relate to it or not... but for guy's i can say for sure ...

for example: if any boy likes a girl then it dosen't matter that she passes through a street at 3AM, 2AM, 1AM or may it be any time during the day, the boy will be there to have a look and to make sure she notices him .... why? where is his sleep?

do we love/like guru/god the same way? if answer is yes ... then it's for sure that there will be no laziness at all.

*if someone feels that the answer is nonsence to the standards of the fourm then please please accept my humble appologies and anybody who feels that way is more than welcome to help and delete it please. WAHEGURU

2012-12-17 09:03:46 -0500 answered a question Why Worship Pictures & Statues??

to worship means TO OBEY, like bhai lehna ji obeyed without a second thought, that in other words is called real worship and to meditate god or guru is to LIVE their techings in day to day life.

guru's moort is shabad(bani guru, guru hai bani)and dhayan is when you do something or anything then you wait and ask/think , is what i'm going to do as per my guru's teachings.

and to answer the other question regarding photos...

the psyche behind bowing to the photos of the guru's is really to bow to that very message(which is gurbani) that particular person (lets say guru nanak) gave. so the real bowing here is to the gubani and not the photo itself.

yogi ji, in one of his lectures said love the TEACHINGS not the treacher .... its the teachings you live not the teacher.

2012-12-17 07:40:10 -0500 answered a question Is it really just that

to put it in very simple words we can say ...

maanaya = agreeing(maan jaana), maan jaana to what? in sihki there is only and only one thing to agree to and that is HUKAM and what is hukam?(usually we term hukam as acepting the will of god but its much more than that)...

and there is only ONE HUKAM, which guru ji tells us is to JAP(as in "jap" ji sahib)and through this jap we are to control kaam, anger, lobh, moh and ahankar, and that is it.

so if we analise even in normal life/world, when we obey someone, he becomes our friend, he/she likes you and likes to keep your company. in the same context when we obey this one hukam(JAP) waheguru will become our friend and with the help of our friend(SHABAD) we will CONTROL the 5's and when they are in control you will suddenly realise that your maan has already manaya hoiya as you are in hukam and then your beloved friend(shabad, guru, waheguru, god... or any other name you may have for him) will long for YOUR company ..... and then you dont need to worry about knowing (janna, janaya)him... he will come and introduce himself with all due respect and love.

2012-12-16 03:30:53 -0500 answered a question kant ....!!!

I believe we all know what KANT means ...... so when we truly really make and accept him as our kant we will realise him(milawa has already happened, as he is within) all we have to come to this realisation. only obstacle is that we don't accept him as our's ..... eg: we can remember all other things, like my house, my car, my husband/wife, my son/daughter and my ...... so on ...... we don't forget all these and then why we forget HIM and then we long for his MILAWA because we don't consider and believe that he is mine and I am his ... the day the very instant we come to believe (maan laya) ke he really is mine ..... we will meet him that very instant(ghari, pal) .... it wouldn't take more than that.

why we think we are separated (vichre) because ...

sabh kish apanaa eik raam paraaeiaa(He sees everything as his own, but he does not own the One Lord)

and how will we meet or realise

seva surath sabadh veechaar(Selfless service and intuitive awareness come by reflecting upon the Word of the Shabad)

and with selfless service and gurbani we will realise HIM

saach shabad thujh maahi samaaeiaa(Through the True Word of the Shabad, I am absorbed into You)

* than man dhan sabh soup gur ko HUKAM manniai paaeeai (Surrender body, mind, wealth, and everything to the Guru; obey the Order of His Will, and you will find Him)

2012-12-14 10:02:18 -0500 answered a question Bhagti (bhakati)

self healing and self study is a bhagti. when you study your thoughts and then actions at all times and act rightious to all the creation, you are doing bhagti and aslo when you heal yourself of Jealousy, hatred and slander and how do you heal youself of these, by LIVING gurbani.

when your-self is healed only then you can serve and serving others is THE GREATEST bhagti of them ALL.

2012-12-14 09:36:15 -0500 answered a question Naam or daras or bheteya or milaap

in sihki, payas is longing or desire(for guru, waheguru) and to fulfill that longing when sikh merges his whole self in gurbani that is his milap(merging) to guru(bani guru, guru hai bani) and then Bheteya means to come in sharan(shelter) of akal purakh ....which means to say sat_bachan to whatever happnes or doesn't happen(in other words bhana man-na) when one leaves his/her do's dont's , likes dislikes

2012-12-14 08:24:22 -0500 answered a question question from asa ki vaar

vastu andar vast smaave dooji hove paas.... pass = aside(like we say in punjabi paase, side te,) so guru ji says if you want to put something at some place then you have to pick up what already is there, only then you will be able you put something else there(like if you want put milk in a glass that is already full of something else then you have to get rid of the other thing first, only then you will be able to use that glass to put milk in it) in the same context if you want waheguru(god) to come and sit(forever) in your mind you have to get rid of what's already ocupying your mind. in easy words guru ji is saying get rid of ego, anger ... and i will pay you a loving visit that will last forever and ever.

2012-12-14 07:00:26 -0500 answered a question What actually is NAAM ?

har(waheguru, god)= human-main(I, ego) and NAAM = na, main(I) meaning, no ego so when there is no self, I, main, me and all that's left is HAR(waheguru) himself. NAAM is MAN(human being) and man is GOD himself, there is no difference beetween the three.

2012-12-11 09:24:14 -0500 answered a question Guru NANAK DEV JI is GOD! Sri Sarbloh Granth. did you know it?

Bhaat Keerath ji says this in reference to Sahib Shiri Guru Arjandev Maharaaj JI and we all know that all 11 guru sahibs are NANAK = narayan, or GOD you might call it.

aap naraaein kalaa dhaar jag mehi paravariyo (The Lord Himself wielded His Power and entered the world)

nirankaar aakaar joth jag manddal kariyo (The Formless Lord took form, and with His Light He illuminated the realms of the world)

2012-09-26 22:52:05 -0500 answered a question Bad hukam at wedding

waheguru waheguru ji ..... guru's hukam and bad, waheguru ...... that is some statement Khalsa ji ..... maybe guru ji was making you aware of the future and giving you the hint to dwell lord's love every single breath of your life and remember him all the time ........ and marriage is all about love anyway, love eachother like you are loving waheguru because that is what your partner is, god himself ......and if there is fight in any couple that means each partner is holding on to their own priorities, so please let go of so called I ( main ) ...... ego, haume, call it what you want to call it ...... sit together everyday and do your simran, nitnem, sadhna and all will be alright by waheguru's grace.

thanks ji I am a fool .... so please forgive me for any mistakes

2012-09-07 23:18:10 -0500 asked a question meaning of nitnem

please explain the deeper meaning of nitnem ..... all everybody tells you that 7 bani's a day is our nitnem, yes true that this is the nem of a sikh but there must be a deeper, greater and hidden meaning of it as well.

waheguru ji ka Khalsa waheguru ji ji fateh
