Hi i have been doing ardaas the normal way (standing up) But past two days i did it sitting crosslegged ^ idk i liked cross legged one better (the feeling and the connection)

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

I used to Ardaas sitting down.

But in the 52 Hukams from Guru Gobind Singh Ji Mahraj number 33 says:

Raheraas da paath kar kharae ho kae ardaas karnee| After reciting Rehras [evening prayers], stand up and perform Ardas.

Also there is a video on this

It is a great disrispect to do ardass sitting down. your ego was fuelling the warm feelings.

We stand and preform the ardass

All legitimate maryadas will tell you to do it while standing up. Occasionally my ardaases will get emotional and full of devotion and I get on my knees for a minute or do mata tekh, but we are generally supposed to stand during ardaas. I probably am breaking the maryada when I do meta tekh in the middle of praying, and I want someone to please guideme on this, but sitting is completly against what the guru said. But you are forgiven because you didn't know. It represents standing before god, not being lazy and sitting or lying down, but standing up straight and putting full attention to god.
