Can someone please explain the difference between having love for a spouse and having loving devotion for Vaheguru. Is it possible to have both?

Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fateh!

There are many kinds of love. Romantic love, devotional love, universal love, personal love, love of a mother for a child, love of a child for his or her parents, love between a brother and a sister, love between a husband and a wife... so many kinds of love. But ultimately, all these sorts of love are temporary except for Prem, universal love.

This state of love comes when you experience that God is Love. Everything is love. Love is the driving force of the universe and it infuses all beings and all things. When you live in that love, then you love everyone. EVERYONE. Unconditionally. And... you expect nothing from anyone else. Sounds hard? Well it is the simplest thing and the hardest thing. Simple because it is the natural state of a human and because it unlocks deep happiness and constant chardi kala. Hard because it requires complete surrender.

See Waheguru in your spouse. You spouse is divine and so are you. Love God in each other and share your love of God together.
