Hey, i hope this question gets answered.

I am 20 years old and live in NYC. I do not know if i will go to hell or not (most likely yes). I have stolen money from gurdwara, about $250. But i will be returning it back. i did it as a teen. My parents also took amrit and they use the same microwave, cups, knife that i make make my chicken in. I also get up late in the morning about 8 o'clock in the after morning and just do 10 min naam jup. I have also done whole a lot of sins. So, my questions are:

Is eating/making chicken in same kitchenware as my parents is a sin? (my dad said it is okay if you clean it)

Paying the money stolen from gurdwara back will cut my sin or no?

Should i take amrit now or later? (i cant get up early in the morning and my mind do wonders around when i do path or naam jup)

Last, doing japji sahib in Boli Sahib gurdwara from the first stair in the well to the last 250 or so stair and repeating japji sahib on each stair and asking for another chance will get me another life after death?

I AM ASKING THESE QUESTIONS BECAUSE WAHEGURU HAS REALLY GIVEN ME SO MUCH AND I DO NOT WANT TO WASTE MY LIFE AND GOTO HELL, WHO KNOW IF I WILL HAVE THIS GOOD OF LIFE IN NEXT LIFE OR IF I WILL BE BORN IN A POOR FAMILY.

Dear Friend,

  1. It depends who you ask. Only if you and your parents are comfortable with it. Gursikhs, most especially those will following sarbloh bibek will say no, but its you choice. Also, I advise you not to eat meat, unless it is an emergency and a must as the gurus taught.

  2. If God wishes it to, but most likely not. You may get a little good karma from returning it and make sure you tell them u did steal it and not just say its a donation or something. You still will probably have more bad karma regarding this situation though. I hope you've repented many times. Continue repenting for the rest of your life, as you've stolen from Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who knows all about this already. You will not pay them back $250, I advise you give tenfold that much ($2500) or somewhere about that because this is serious.

  3. Do not take amrit yet. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but you are a foolish manmukh. Shame on you for all your sins. You are not ready for amrit just because u keep panj kakkars. Amrit is for the saintly.

  4. Only by Waheguru's will. If god decides no, then it is no. You should definitly do this act though, and show that you really do care. See, doing Japji Sahib on a bunch of stairs won't bring you liberation, only Gods will can. You can still turn ur life around, but u gotta wprk hard and most especially do many ardaases.

PS: Work hard to get up at Amritvela, and a least do Japji Sahib. PPS: Don't worry about ur next life, worry about this onn, and if u play your cards right, you will go to Sach Khand (if u become reeeaallly saintly).

Here, I took a hukamnama for you and interpreted it:

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla, Second House, Du-Paday: One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: Fire is contained in all firewood, and butter is contained in all milk. God's Light is contained in the high and the low; the Lord is in the hearts of all beings. ||1|| Deep within you is God and you have the potential to become holy and saintly but you must work really hard if you are sure you want this

O Saints, He is pervading and permeating each and every heart. The Perfect Lord is completely permeating everyone, everywhere; He is diffused in the water and the land. ||1||Pause|| You, like me, and like every life form, are part of God, and there is no you, me, or I. This can be interpreted sort of to mean to extinguish your ego. He is deep within the heart. Find him. Nanak sings the Praises of the Lord, the treasure of excellence; the True Guru has dispelled his doubt. The Lord is pervading everywhere, permeating all, and yet, He is unattached from all. ||2||1||29|| To quote Yogi ... (more)

i would like to say that there is no any imaginary place like hell and heaven in sikhism. since you have accepted your mistakes, its better to compensate. everything depends on karma. if you did good karma, then you will receive good things and if you did bad then you will receive bad. the only way to undo the bad karma is to do good deeds , like helping someone etc. And yes, its good to return it back. just go there and insert the money inside the donation box (golak). everyone make mistakes, but the ones who learn from their mistakes are rare. peace ;)

First relax.

No point stress about the past.

Give the money back, and give some time to do sewa at the Gurdwara, Its a great that you want to give it back.

No point of stressing about previous sins, otherwise I would be probably in some serious depression. We aint perfect only Guru Ji is.

You don't take Amrit, Guru Ji blesses it to you, since you gave your head to him. So with guru jis grace, do ardaas and ask him to place you on the path. Dont take amrit straight away, slow steps.

Sikhi isn't about guilt and trying to scare you about hell. It about love.

Check this video out.

Everyone mind wonders when the do Path or Simran. If you don't believe me check out my pervious questions and search the internet you will probably find countless countless people with the same problem.

First check if sikhs should eat meat.

Nothing in this world is clean. If Dhan Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Mahraj went to some persons house who ate meat, would he really say I don't want to eat here.

You are very lucky, that you realised Waheguru has given you so much. Time to thank him by doing Path, simran, seva and following what he says. But do remember to question why Guru told you to do something. Thats how we learn.

The word sikh means learner, where all students. To be a Sikh you have to learn from your past.

If Guru Nanak Dev Ji can forgive a cannibal and thief and make them into saints. You just got to trust him.

No one in this world is as forgiving and merciful as our Gurus.

Check out basics of sikhi, the stories on there will inspire you and check out Bhai Sukha Singh Ji. Also Watch all these videos as well.

Please forgive me if i said anything wrong or offensive. Do search this website about sins and not concentrating on path.
