Other faith's holy books for insight?

I will follow manily just my Guru, the Adi Granth and chant Waheguruji, but can I read other faith's holy books for insight to better myself also every once in a while. Like could i read the Vedas every once in a while not just to understand culture but to also better spirituality as a tool, as long as I'm only keeping my Guru Granth Sahib Ji as my true guru and teacher?

Of course you can read other books and learn about other faiths. Though we have only one Guru and bow only to him, the more we learn about others' faiths the better understanding we have of them. Understanding brings tolerance and kindness.
