Thing is that all access points that we possess point outwards and that is what we take it for.

The Guru means don't hang out with people who bring you down. People who are critical and negative. Find your Sangat... the people who inspire you, support you and uplevel you. Who you spend time with is a measure of your own spiritual growth. There are lessons to be learned everywhere and the Guru teaches us through even the most negative person, but if you work on yourself and elevate yourself, there comes a time when your negative and/or abusive friends fall away and your Sangat emerges.
