Sat Shri Akaal,

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa , Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

First of all i want to say that sikhnet members are doing a great sewa by solving people problems and help them to elevate themselves.

Our body’s hairs whether it is of head hairs , beard hairs , moustache hairs , legs hairs , chest hairs etc , all are our identity , any alteration with any of them whether it is cutting , plucking , breaking , colouring etc is a sin and when we tie our beard we assume ourself as modern sikhs and loose our natural sikh identity of saint .now my question is – Is it ok for sikhs whether amritdhari or non-amritdhari to tie their beard using rubberband or thick thread or some net or other type of stuff to tie our beard as when using these things like example-rubberband to tie beard then say 2-3 or sometime more hairs got break up . What we are doing is tying our beards and using rubberband or thick thread or some net or other type of stuff to tie our beard but with these things like rubberband while using or opening rubberband from our beard we break some hairs daily , as it breaks whether we noticed or not but hairs breaks . Isn’t it a kurheit and we have to go to pesh to panj pyarae as till now we have break so many hairs during tying or opening rubberband from the beard and still we thoughts that we haven’t did any kurheit(one of the four 4 bajjer kurheits which we should not have to do and if we did we have to go to pesh to panj pyarae for punishment ). I hope you understand what i want to say. Tell me what you think and what is your views on this .

Sorry if i caused offence that was not my intention. I apologise in advance for any mistakes and sins.

Thanking you.

Vaadhaa Ghaataa Bhul Chuk Maaf Karnee.

Sat Shri Akaal

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

There are five K's of Sikhism. No one should deny these five tenets. To defy them would be indefensible. These are the five tenets-Kadha (Iron Bangle), Kirpan (Sword), Katchh (underwear), Kangha (comb), Kes (Hair). All the other signs are useless. These five K's are very significant. What I have narrated above is not against belief. The hookaw, the hair cutting, the red meat and the bastard are not part of the Sikh religion. Coloring ones hair with Heena is like blasphemy. (51)
