Dear one .. A giani in our local Gurdwara was sharing gian through his perspective and he criticed turban over durmalla .. He said guru gobind Singh ji told us wear durmalla as it is much more powerful and protective than wearing a turban . Wearing a turban will not give you that protection ." Is there any advice in gurbani about this concept .. As I have started to wear a turban regularly ..

Dear Meet,

I think he's referring to in battle or extreme physical conditions. A regular turban is not as secure and firm as Durmalla or Daastar. Simply use the comparison of when playing sports, It's difficult to wear a pug in comparison to a Daastar as the Daastar is very secure.

I apologize if I've said anything disrespectful. -Namastwang Akaale, Namastwang Kirpaale!

I agree with your reply. Secondly i heard the right name for Durmalla is Dumalla. Is it right? The logic which i heard for the same is...Dumalla is combination of two words i.e. Dum + alla means a turban with turla on back side. Please comment. Regards,
