In our Gurus' time, contraception was not the science it is today. So it was never addressed directly in our teachings or rehit directly.

So look at it this way. Having a baby is a tremendous responsibility! It is not easy to be pregnant, and children need care around the clock. So, it is irresponsible to bring life into this world in a cavalier fashion, for we create a burden of karma for ourselves by bearing children we are ill-prepared to care for and teach. So, contraceptives are a gift for people -- married or not-- who do not want to bear children irresponsibly, yet, or at all.

good question, the answer would be NO.

u can not use contraceptive while performing sex, because affecting ur body or disturbing its functions is not ur right to do... better suggest ur partner to use condom and it is cheap and safe procedure.

My suggestion supports sex after marriage and it comes under family planning.

No both answers are wrong! Guru Sahib tells us to get rid of the 5 thieves. Lust, anger, greed, attachment, and pride. Having sex is naturally to bear children but if you are doing this to not have children but only for your mere sexual pleasure then that is against Gurbani. We must learn to control the mind. And by Sikh, I am assuming someone who had taken Amrit and follows the Guru's word. And if so then no, we should not be doing these types of things if it is not for having children. I advice you speak to someone who knows what they are talking about and has read and understands the Guru Granth sahib. This is a basic concept brothers!
