i wish to fully understand.
i want to learn to read and speak punjabi.
i live in a northern community with only the internet as my available knowledge.
please advise me on sites and programs where i can learn. beginner to enlightnened.

Like in any language, you need to learn the alphabet before you can carry on with reading and/or writing.
Here is a great resource sheet, which was created by sikhnet and has helped me personally.

Once you have learn the letters, then you can learn the vowels, using the same sheet.
Well, for learning any language, the theory cant help. If you want to learn Punjabi, you just cant cram it by reading everything available on the internet! Make some friends who speak Punjabi fluently and you can learn from them!
