Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fathe.

Celebrating birthdays are a western thing its not linked with Sikhi however I personally think that there is nothing wrong with celebrating it and thanking God.

Personally, yes I celebrate it. But not with a cake or a party or any of the 'western' traditions. I have no problem with anyone celebrating birthdays. Your birth is a blessing from Waheguru why not thank God.

I go in front of my guru and say thank you for bringing me into this world. Something like... 'God the years of my life a going by so fast Guru Ji. Thank you for the great life that I have and please please protect me and I don't forget you. May the coming year by your blessing be a good year.'

Well something like that. My mum and dad make parshad and we do ardass in front of guru ji.

I mean its the same ardass I do everyday but its your birthday and you truly reflect on what you have achieved and become. I'm also most of the time a bit sad because another year has gone by but also thankful to my guru that God brought me into this world and God will always protect me.

I wish a happy birthday to everyone I personally know, like close family and close friends, because on that day Waheguru Ji brought them in to this world and how lucky I am.

Please forgive me for my mistakes

bhul chok maff karna ji

As for the answer to the question, Kaurageouswarrior1699 has already delivered a nice one.

My query here is: Why do my questions have to come with the 'we' tag. There are rules. There are guidelines. There is your self.. and then there are others also. Why does most of my doubts wrap around the 'we' and not 'me'. And same applies while I reply ... It'll be more from a 'we' than a 'me' .

:) Yes...I can say sticking to 'me' can lead to haumey ...but then what is the 'we' doing.

Please donot take it in any other sense ...
