Does this make me a bad Sikh?

My parents are not particularly religious but recently I have started to take more of an interest into my religion. Since a baby my hair has been cut. Does this make me a bad Sikh? My Grandmother always taught me that Sikhism is about keeping love for God in your heart and doing good, and that a Royal Uniform must go hand in hand with Royal actions. I understand that wearing a turban is respectful to God. Thank you.

nothing makes you a bad sikh unless u really want to be bad.. it was not your fault that your hair were cut when you a baby. but maybe from now you can follow the Sikhism rules and be a good sikh. your grandma is right, Sikhism is keep love for you in heart and doing good. i hope that helped.

Since your hair was cut when you were a baby your not guilty of it. Although cutting of hair is against Sikhism but since you were raised this manner it is not your fault. Your grandmother is right about royal uniform of the turban, whenever you feel that you are ready for that commitment of keeping your hair and wearing a turban, your sikh brothers and sikh sisters will wait for you. In Sikhism no one will judge you but the Sikhs as a family will help you connect to your roots and faith in any possible manner.

Ok first of all there is no such thing as a good or bad sikh. either u r a sikh or ur not. u cut ur hair ur not a sikh. yeah its quite strict but sikhi is hard to follow. u might claim to be a sikh but guru gobind singh ji said 'rehat piari muj ko sikh piara nahe.' there are a lot of pretenders in this world that call themselves sikhs but they do not follow the rehat so they are not sikhs. u urself cut ur hair when u were young yeah well that wasn't ur fault u didn't know anything about sikhi and why hair is so important. so ultimately u have to decide wether ur gonna be a sikh or just another pretender. sikhi is not just a religion its a way of life.

Let's define who is a Sikh according to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji:

so sikh sakhaa ba(n)dhhap hai bhaaee j gur kae bhaanae vich aavai || He alone is a Sikh, a friend, a relative and a sibling, who walks in the Way of the Guru's Will.

http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=2284

Nowadays there are so many definitions that have created by us humans as to who can or who is a Sikh but we should always ask Guru Ji...ultimately we have to become our Guru Ji's Sikh and not a Sikh of society/culture/country/caste etc.

God bless us all...

This doesn't make you a worse or better Sikh, but if you feel in the truth of keeping your Kesh, I suggest that you tell your parents as soon as you have the love for Kesh, don't be shy they will understand, may Waheguru bless you on the path of Sikhi Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
