The Khalsa Rehat of Guru Gobind Singh prohibits "hookah." This has been interpreted to mean different things by different people. From my understanding of Gurbani, Guruji means that Khalsa needs no intoxicants and does not seek to become intoxicated. Meditation on Naam is our way. That said, all herbs and plants are given to animals and humans to nourish and heal us and marijuana is a medicine that can be used correctly for healing and balancing the body,. Medicinally it is only taken orally or topically, never smoked.

Yes, all natural herbs and medicinal plants can be toxic when abused.
