Is it right to interpret Guru's Hukum for a marriage decision?

My mother is a firm believer of Sikhism. We believe and follow the religion with pure heart and soul.
I have recently shortlisted a profile for my marriage and my mother decided to seek Guru's Hukum to decide whether I should proceed with marrying the boy or not. The boy was never taught much about the religion by his family but he has recently read so much about the religion with pure intention of following it and has already started to recite the Mool Mantra several times a day.
The boy is well educated, is stable and has a very good nature. However, my mother believes that it is Guru's Hukum to not proceed.
Further details: After Nitnem and Ardas, my mother asked the question whether I should consider this boy for marriage and read the Hukum of Golden Temple on 26 April 2019. A month later, (today) my mother again did the same thing and to her surprise exactly the same Hukum came as it was on 26th April (a month ago)
Please advise if this means that I should not proceed with marrying the boy and whether Hukum is right to seek a marriage decision. I have asked about Paathi from a nearby Gurudwara and he said marriage should be based on nature and characteristics of the boy and that the Hukum is for the nation as a whole and not for one particular person and so I shouldn't regard a marriage decision based on it.
Hukumnama: Shalok, Fourth Mehl: He has spiritual ignorance within, and his intellect is dull and dim; he does not place his faith in the True Guru.
He has deceit within himself, and so he sees deception in all others; through his deceptions, he is totally ruined.
The True Guru's Will does not enter into his consciousness, and so he wanders around, pursuing his own interests.
If He grants His Grace, then Nanak is absorbed into the Word of the Shabad. ||1||
Fourth Mehl: The self-willed manmukhs are engrossed in emotional attachment to Maya; in the love of duality, their minds are unsteady.
Night and day, they are burning; day and night, they are totally ruined by their egotism.
Within them, is the total pitch darkness of greed, and no one even approaches them.
They themselves are miserable, and they never find peace; they are born, only to die, and die again.
O Nanak, the True Lord God forgives those, who focus their consciousness on the Guru's feet. ||2||
Pauree: That Saint, that devotee, is acceptable, who is loved by God.
Those beings are wise, who meditate on the Lord.
They eat the food, the treasure of the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord.
They apply the dust of the feet of the Saints to their foreheads.
O Nanak, they are purified, bathing in the sacred shrine of the Lord. ||26||
