May I please know what is the difference between dehdhari sant versus dehdhari guru. I understand doing sewa of enlightened sants is very good but should we follow each and every word they say. My family follows a great sant and my husband is over strict in following and wants me to follow to his and rest of sangats standards. I love Guru Nanak since childhood but my faith is being judged by my dedication in following sant and sangat. This becomes upsetting for me as they question my love with Guru Nanak. I am a very low person and will be happy to rise gradually as Waheguru wishes rather than getting judged. It is a great sangat but ultimately, when something doesn't happen as desired, its put down to actions of the least follower, which is me. I am a stupid simple person and now getting fearful of causing harm to my family. I decided the best way to join quietly but my husband pushes me to follow more. We love each other too much since teenage years and married for more than a decade, but this is strangely the first thing that is creating misunderstanding. I believe in doing charity to needy people and he believes in doing through sant which I dont mind. I just want to be let free as i dont interfere with anyones beliefs. We had always done everything together, but i dont exactly want to follow his path in this. Please guide if Guru Nanak asks us to follow dehdhari sant (who can directly communicate with Him) or not. I feel not so good in thinking anybody no matter how big sant can be equal to Guru Nanak. I feel better being allowed to get blessings and teachings from sant and do sewa. And not ask life problems and follow strict things. Again, I am far from enlightenment but feel going backwards due to family pressure. Please help.

Dear Lowly Being - For each person, the path is different. Each must walk it in his or her own way. Do not judge. Tune in to your own heart, understand and walk your OWN path with love in your heart.

Thanks a lot for reply. That's what I always felt and never try to expect anyone to believe what I do. But this has been causing distress as rigid ideas are being imposed and when I try not to agree ( its mainly because I don't feel comfortable in equating even the greatest sant to Waheguru), then my love for God is questioned. I have always loved my husband more than anything and feel very hurt that the numerous worldly problems didn't affect our love even a bit, and this little difference on a good path is affecting. I am trying to detach a bit from the situation but it's not easy.

Guru Ji sends us many teachers as we walk the road of our life, but behind them all there is only one teacher.
