The actual meaning of this shabad Is that only those who love god will know or realize god then why do some people misinterpret this into worldly love (true love between two people)? Is this also related to the latter part?
Why do people misunderstand anything? Usually because the misunderstanding serves their ego games in some way, most often by rationalizing a course of action taken in ego. This shabad is about total surrender to God, nothing else.
In old times of India there was no law or anything. If a person's wife used to get sick or "beyond repair" he used to get a new one.
Prem means love meaning not leaving your loved one even when its in a "beyond repair" state. So ones who sticked to their wives even in that situation were said to be in love.
Guru Gobind Singh here means "Those who have loved God in the same way, only they are destined to find God. Not forgetting God even when life sucks, When you know you have been sincere and been praying but God doesn't answer your prayers, you still stay at his side"
