In this context the word means thoughts and activities that are pursued in order to satisfy the cravings of ego. Of course, these cravings are endless and lead to acts of corruption.

Ok thank you very much for answering my question. Would like to ask though, is this the word that is used to refer to passion in this context ਬਿਖੈ(bikhai)?

Yeah I think so, bikhai means "poison" I think. So, referring to passion being of ego being poison in this context. However, Guruka Singh ji might be able to better explain it if I'm wrong.
