I have a couple of questions for those who are amritdhari since I work in healthcare. I know there are individual variances in how people will feel. But generally, in surgeries they shave the area they need to in order to perform the surgery and be able to suture (sew) up the area properly afterward. In using an AED for CPR we also have this issue of having to shave the chest to put on pads to shock the heart. I got asked about this from others too, especialyl if its an emergency and someone is dead at that point and saving their life for CPR. Is it ok for us to remove hair from the area to save their life? Is it ok for us to remove hair for the purpose of surgery? What shoudl i tell other healthcare providers who also ask this question. If there is no famiyl around to guide us, can we proceed.

Yes, it is okay. The hairs will grow back. It is not the patient cutting his or her own hair for appearances sake. It is a medical procedure.
