No need for Cod LIver oil. After your vitamin D blood level is measured, you will need a high weekly dose of around 50,000 units till the blood level is correct (usually a few weeks.) That high dose must be prescribed by a doctor. Then, after blood levels are correct, a daily maintenance dose of 2,000 - 6,000 units. That means THREE blood tests. One to diagnose; another after the initial couple of weeks of high dosage, then another a few months later to make sure the maintenance dose is correct. There are great vegetarian vitamin D supplements. I know because I take it every day. See this website. They also have test kits you can do at home and then mail in.

You can also go outside and sun-bathe. Cause sun rays contain a lot of Vitamin-D, don't forget to take sun-blocker for the Ultra violet rays. :)
