I’m wondering if the British kings/Queens ever made contact (or tried to) with Guru Gobind Singh Ji and if they did what was it about? Guru Gobind Singh Ji ascended in 1708 and searches say the British were in India late 16th century and early 17th?

There has been no evidence or any account that has said the British ever came into contact with the Gurus. Although they did come to India around the 1600s, they mainly stayed around the coast for trading purposes. Their main headquarters were in London and it was not until the 1750s where the British started exerting more military power over parts of India and get involved with Indian politics which later enabled them to exert their Raj (rule) over India.
