As Sikhs, we bow to the Bir of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, but actually the Guru is all around us as well as inside us. Bowing when we feel reverence does not mean submission. It means honoring. We surrender only to Guru Ji. We do not worhip the Nishan Sahib, but we do show reverence towards it.
