I know that people come and go in our lives, and Gurbani talks about how our one real support is God. Our associations with the people we meet is based on our past lives. Sometimes I've been fortunate to meet people that filled my heart with love and inspiration for the path to God. It's the type of sangat we all long for. But either they were traveling, or i was traveling, and the time of meeting was short- too short. I always am so sad to say goodbye, and I wish i had more time to pray together, do kirtan together, etc. Because of time and distance constraints, usually it means we probably won't ever meet again. I know I should be feeling so lucky that God has given me this sangat in my life, and to spend any time at all is a blessing. But tomorrow I have to say goodbye again, and it's so hard to see everyone come and go in my life. How do i accept these comings and goings without it being so painful? The journey feels harder without having that kind of sangat around. I realize all relationships except the one to god is transitionary, but i think i have a hard time with attachment.

Yes, endings are often hard. But when you feel this way about people, your soul is connecting to their soul. Even though you may not be with these people physically, a soul-to-soul connection goes beyond the limitations of time and space. With so many methods of communication available, you can text, talk or video chat with these people and you can connect to them through prayer and meditation as well.

thanks! unfortunately a few of the people i've met aren't tech-savy or live in rural areas without internet! I really like you point about souls connecting and connecting through prayer/meditation
