it is not that your prayers are not heard or not being answered they are every single time. But we are so engrossed in our selfish desires which are like mirage (mrig-trishna) that one keep running after. You want everything as per your wish, which is so flawed. If you just let go of everything, do naam jap and listen to Baani whole-heartedly everyday slowly - slowly your surrt (mann) will connect to divine and Waheguru who is infinte intellege will touch you and give you the best ever possible answer. Bhane vich rehna and let Almighty do its work which will be the best for you and everyone else and will satisfy all your desires deeply at so many levels.
